Life is Grand

It has been WAY too long since we've posted to this blog, but I can guarantee you that is a wonderful thing.  Life with the Galligans is amazing, and busy, and without any health drama.  So, we've been busy living and enjoying this wonderful life.  Everyday we feel blessed for all of the kisses, snuggles, and laughter in our world.  We could not be more proud of both Mason and Blake.

Mason is in 1st grade this year, and to put it mildly, she is rocking it!  She is a phenomenal reader, and she truly loves going to school and learning everyday.  To make it even better, her school encourages and rewards walking and/or biking to school, so we have incorporated this into our (almost) daily routine (Blake rides a tandem bike with Mom).  She is very active with gymnastics, tennis, Spanish, soccer, and guitar, and she really does seem to thrive with a busy life.

Blake is 100% boy, loving Star Wars and Avengers (I think we have every super hero costume and every color lightsaber that exists).  He has a great attitude toward everything.  He is in Pre-K this year, and has really picked up on reading; he is very focused when asked to do something and I know he will also love going to Kindergarten (*gasp*) next year.  Blake sees his cardiologist every 6 months and over the past year his oxygen saturations have remained an almost perfect 99%, he grew two inches in six months, and continues to be a powerhouse with his size (it's hard to believe being small and skinny was ever an issue with him).  Since his last surgery in 2011 Blake has had the stamina to try his hand at new sports, this year he is playing soccer, t-ball, and flag football.  He also continues to enjoy gymnastics and yoga.  His doctors have cleared him to play sports and our attitude is that we want to continue to encourage him until he's either not able to keep up or doesn't enjoy it any more.

For those of you we know and love, thank you for continuing to keep our family and Blake's health in your thoughts and prayers.  For those of you we don't know, thank you for keeping up with our family and our adventures through the world of CHDs.
