Heart Boys
While we were in town for Blake's neurological exam at Texas Children's Hospital and the It's My Heart Conference, we had dinner with the Johnston's. Henry Johnston (on the left) is Blake's HLHS friend. Henry and Blake have the same heart condition, only Henry is a year (and a couple of months) older than Blake. We had a lovely dinner (thanks Allison and Jeff) and it was really special to see these two boys together and to see how well they are both doing.

With Flying Colors
We are so pleased to say Blake did great at his one year follow up to his clinical trial. They said that they saw no developmental delays in Blake. The trial is assessing the results of oxygen deprivation to the brain during open heart surgery. He may or may not have been given an expeimental drug to help protect his brain from the effects of oxygen deprivation (we won't know until he is 5).
Also part of the trial they give the mother an IQ test to plot the child's intelligence against the mother's (apparently there is a significant correlation). I don't know my results yet (and you can be sure I won't be sharing them), but I am sad to say my coffee hadn't quite kicked in and I choked on my last definition - panacea. Bugger, what kind of word lover am I? I am so mad at myself!

Long time, no posts
We've had some busy times around the Galligan casa, so my apologies for the delayed postings. This past weekend Bryan and I went to Conroe for Jaime and Meredith Knight's wedding. We had a great time catching up with friends, and the kids had a great time with their Mimi and Paw Paw (and Auntie and Cory too).
Can you say sugar rush?
Super cheese!

Sweet boy
And in other news, Blake is slowly getting more brave with his walking. He is starting to walk 3-4 steps at a time before plopping on his bottom, or trying to do a belly flop. And let me tell you, he is so proud of himself when he does it!
Finally, I just have to share some photos I got with the new awesome lens Mom and Dad got me for my birthday (I LOVE IT!)
